Miller Creek has now raised over $1,755.00 for Haitian Relief efforts! Our drive continues for one more week! Hope for Haiti Now!
February LifeSkill is Honesty
Dear Miller Creek Parent(s) and Families,
Miller Creek continues to look for ways to become a "greener" place. Green-ways-to-school is a campaign from Safe Routes to Schools and the aim is to reduce 1) car trips, 2) greenhouse gases, and 3) traffic congestion around Marin schools by encouraging walking, biking, carpooling or taking the bus to school.
All Miller Creek parents and guardians can register at www.SchoolPoolMarin.org to request a matchlist of other families interested in forming a "SchoolPool" to carpool, walk, bike, or take the bus together to and from school. Please register today!
Miller Creek's annual "Talent Show" will take place Friday, February 12th, toward the end of the day. This event will showcase a variety of talented indivduals and groups! It's a great way to send everyone off for a mid-winter break!
We are in the middle of Trimester B, eighth grade trips are beginning, seventh graders will participate in the STAR writing test on March 2nd, and sixth graders are busy researching a wide array of topics for mini-research papers.
Our efforts to collect money for earthquake relief in Haiti has brought in over $1700.00! Miller Creek students truly consider themselves citizens of the world and work to make a difference every day! We thank you for the support!
Enjoy some family time this month.
Regards,
Greg Johnson, Principal

Miller Creek Middle School is a community that encourages all its members-students, staff, and parents- to be lifelong learners who embrace a healthy lifestyle, demonstrate compassion and empathy for others, and act with integrity and honesty. It is the goal of this community to provide the tools and resources necessary to foster creative, independent thinkers who will become proud stewards of our world.
Location and Community
Miller Creek Middle School is located just outside the city limits of San Rafael, California. It serves the communities of Lucas Valley, Marinwood, and Terra Linda. One of four schools in the Dixie School District, it was originally constructed in 1964. Nestled within the beautiful hills of Marin County, we have Miller Creek running behind the campus, oaks and bay trees surrounding the campus, and the historic Dixie School House at our entrance. We have over 34 classrooms, a gym, performing arts stage, band room, orchestra room, choir room, two computer centers, the world-famous Creek Cafe, and a state-of-the-art library/media center. Our school receives active and generous support from our parent community, the Dixie Children's Fund (DCF), and the Miller Creek Home and School Club. |
