Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year! We trust you had a great summer vacation and are ready for a wonderful year of learning here at Miller Creek Middle School.

The middle school years are an exciting (and sometimes challenging) time for our students and their families. You may find the “Survival Guide” created by the Middle School Coalition/Family Services Network Committee of the Jefferson School District a useful resource to help navigate these middle school years. It covers a wide range of topics including etiquette, relationships with family and friends, making friends, bullies, discipline, peer pressure, habits of successful middle school students, and a variety of health issues. Please note that the agencies and phone numbers listed in the “Survival Guide” are not in California. If you need a local agency’s number, please contact Ms. Jacobs or Ms. Lauriks, our school counselors.

You can help your student be prepared for school by checking that:

  • All homework assignments are listed in the planner. (You can double check against our website, if needed.)
  • All homework is complete and filed into the correct section of the binder.
  • The binder(s) is/are organized and supplies are adequately stocked.
  • The backpack is neat and organized.
