The middle school years are a time of change and transition for both the adolescent and the family. The school counselors are resources for the adolescent, family, teacher and school. The three domains for the national standards for school counselors (academic, personal/social and career) will be the foundation for our school counseling department and guidance curriculum.
Miller Creek Middle School’s counseling department is a developmental guidance program designed to meet the needs of all students. Research studies have supported the effectiveness of developmental guidance programs to help increase the visibility of the counseling program, ensure that more students are served and provide a preventative and proactive service to help students acquire mastery of appropriate developmental skills.
